Kapil Sharma is back with The Kapil Sharma Show. A promo video teasing the new season of the popular TV show dropped on Thursday and revealed which cast members were returning to The Kapil Sharma Show. The short clip featured Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda, and Chandan Prabhakar as they joined Kapil, who was seen lying on a hospital bed. The Kapil Sharma Show will premiere on September 10 on Sony TV.
The channel announced the date and timing of The Kapil Sharma Show with a hilarious video. In the clip, Kapil Sharma is dressed in a hospital gown with a bandage on his head. He is lying on a bed and looks surprised as he wakes up to find many people surrounding him. While he recognises his father-in-law, played by Ishtiyak Khan, Kiku Sharda’s Gudiya, and Chandan Prabhakar’s Chandu, who plays a chai seller on the comedy show, Kapil feigns ignorance when he sees his wife, played by Sumona. He asks, “Yeh behenji kaun hai (who is this sister)?” When he is told by the others that it’s his wife, Kapil who seems to be recovering from memory loss, looked upset.
When actor Srishty Rode (Gazal) makes an entry with a bouquet of flowers in her hands, Kapil’s health gets better in no time. After saying ‘darling’ he runs to her and gives her a big hug before telling her, “36-34… the digits on your scooter’s number plate.” Soon, Archana Puran Singh makes an appearance as she pulls Kapil by his collar and says in Hindi, “You have forgotten your wife, but you remember her scooter’s number?”
Along with the video, the channel announced the date of the show’s return in the caption: “Kapil Sharma is back with a new season and new reasons to make you laugh. Watch The Kapil Sharma Show on Saturday and Sunday at 9.30pm on Sony TV.”
Recently, comedian-actor Krushna Abhishek confirmed that he will not be a part of the new season of the show, after appearing on it in previous seasons. He had played several characters on the show, including Jackie Dada, Dharmendra and Sapna. He was seen on the show after Sunil Grover had exited The Kapil Sharma Show. Speaking with Pinkvilla recently, Krushna had said about the show, “Not doing it. Agreement issues.”
The Kapil Sharma Show began in 2016 and has aired 387 episodes over three seasons so far. The last episode aired in June this year, following which the cast took a break and they travelled to the US and Canada for Kapil Sharma’s comedy tour.
